Overall, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a promising addition to the already-massive 40K franchise. It is rewarded by an impressive story, though. New players might have to fail a couple of times before getting used to the gameplay and style this game has to offer. Other than that, it also comes with quite an unforgiving difficulty level. This arsenal works well with the variety of enemies available in the game.Īs such, it comes with a Mature tag, meaning it’s not suitable for younger audiences on account of its violence and mature themes. As a Space Marine, you get to enjoy unique weapons like the small yet powerful Boltgun, as well as the intimidating Chainsword. So expect tons of gore, although rendered in pixelated brutality, and a twisting storyline that works for both new and existing fans of 40K lore. It retains the basic elements of the sci-fi fantasy franchise. It does the purpose of simplifying and bringing 40K characters to a new market. As such, expect the dated visual style that is making a return. However, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a fun addition to the variety of 40K games already available, now expanding into the retro FPS scene.
